Order of Christian Initiation for Adults
OCIA
The OCIA is for those who would like to learn about the Catholic faith and possibly become Catholic. At St. Anthony, the OCIA is a one year program (however, it can be as long as the inquirer needs) of weekly gatherings for prayer and faith sharing, fellowship and worship.
It is not just a set of classes, but an invitation to enter into the life of the Catholic Church through:
Spending time with other Catholics
Hearing their stories of faith
Finding joy in the support of others in the community while building meaningful relationships
Learning what the Church teaches
Serving those in need
Experiencing Catholic worship and prayer
Coming to a deeper understanding of oneself and a heart knowledge of the person of Jesus.
